Designed By Industry Pros

The first Thermo-Lay Hot Asphalt was constructed by Art Leafdale, a street superintendent for the City of Thermopolis, WY, in 1977. Art’s responsibilities included pothole patch repairs, spring breakup, shoulder failures, and other pavement fatigue. Art was committed to building a truck that could do more with less.

The team at Thermo-Lay sees that the need for its product, developed back in 1977 is only growing. Over the past 45 years, Thermo-Lay has evolved but continues to be family-owned and operated. Designed to work. Safe to Operate. Built to Last.

Thermo-Lay Manufacturing is based in Meridian, Idaho. Its products are designed by industry professionals, welded with AWS certified welders, and guided by the experience of 45 years in the business.

Our Team

Though Thermo-Lay began with Art Leafdale, it has continually improved thanks to a series of people that have developed Thermo-Lay into the company it is today. Years of industry relationships and decades of working together allow us to successfully provide the hardest working, safest to operate, and built-to-last piece of equipment.

In 2021, Thermo-Lay Manufacturing moved its headquarters from Billings, Montana, to Meridian, Idaho. The team is led by Jeff McCoy and is committed to continuing Thermo-Lay’s legacy to provide cities, highway districts, municipalities, and contractors with hard-working asphalt patching equipment that safely repairs our nation’s infrastructure.
